Animals
Age range: Key Stage 1
Explore the woodland and use our ‘outdoor lab’ to analyse findings. Compare woodland, pond, lake, hedgerow habitats. Learn about the
different food chains. Resources available for teachers to use back

Curriculum coverage, statutory requirements:
- identify and name a variety of common animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals
- identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores,

Rocks
Age range: Key Stage 2
Explore and find rocks in our woodland and farm setting complete with quarry and woodland ‘laboratory’.

- walk through farm to beach and explore the great expanse of shingle and slate on Beesands Beach

- compare and group together different kinds of rocks on
the basis of their appearance and simple physical
properties - describe in simple terms how fossils are formed when

Seasons
Age range: Key Stage 1

Early Years Forest School
Come and visit our fantastic woodland and farm at Forest and Beach. Spend the day in the woods under our parachute complete with fire pit and seating. Go on a ‘backpack’ walk, collect woodland treasures, make fairy dens. Allow children to explore freely and interact with each other in a stimulating environment. EYFS days at Forest and Beach are led by experienced Early Years teachers.

Habitats - key stage 1
Age range: Key Stage 1

describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of

idea of a simple food chain, and identify and name different sources of food

Plants - key stage 2
Age range: Key Stage 2
Explore the woodland and use our ‘outdoor lab’ to analyse findings. Investigate pollinators on the farm, experiment with seed dispersal. Come and plant and return to harvest! Days led by experienced teachers. Prices start from £150, book a follow up visit for discount.
Curriculum coverage, statutory requirements:
- identify and describe the functions of different parts of flowering
plants: roots, stem/trunk, leaves and flowers - explore the requirements of plants for life and growth (air, light,
water, nutrients from soil, and room to grow) and how they vary
from plant to plant - investigate the way in which water is transported within plants
explore the part that flowers play in the life cycle of flowering
plants, including pollination, seed formation and seed dispersal
