Forest days

Forest days

Our forest days are based on the principles of Forest School - where children and young people build self esteem and independence through exploring and experiencing the natural world, and through learning new skills. Our forest days are run throughout the year by experienced, Devon-based teachers and include activities such as fire-lighting, shelter-building, outdoor cooking and tool work.

The ethos of Forest School encourages practical, hands-on experience. It also allows teachers to step back and observe the children in order to then encourage and inspire them to achieve and learn. It fosters a love and respect for the natural world.

Our forest days are set in a beautiful, peaceful, private forest, where children can explore, play and investigate nature in a safe and secure environment. The emphasis is always on having fun and we organise plenty of games for the children to enjoy.

A short video of our Forest Days filmed during February half term with a GoPro camera. Much of the footage is filmed by the children wearing the camera. The video is a snapshot of a great day outdoors!
