Training and advice for teaching staff

When teachers Andrea and Pete Moore developed and set up their own Forest School, they embarked upon a voyage of discovery as they watched children interact with the outdoor world.  Now, with over 36 years of teaching experience between them, Andrea and Pete have a specialist knowledge and understanding of how children learn outdoors. They have been gladly able to share this knowledge with other teaching staff from schools across South Devon, helping them develop their own outdoor areas, providing advice and training, and supporting teaching staff in increasing their confidence and skills to take children into the outdoors. This has often taken the form of delivering INSET days and staff visits to Forest & Beach.  Schools they have worked with include: St Mary’s C of E, Buckfast, Bradley Barton Primary, Newton Abbot, Cranbrook Primary, Exeter, Stokenham Primary School, Aveton Gifford C of E Primary School, Harbertonford Primary School, and Diptford Primary School.

Prices for training depend on specific requirements. However as a rough guide, an INSET morning with staff with all equipment provided is £300. Some schools have developed their Forest School areas alongside the children and a teaching day with a group starts at £200 depending on requirements.
